Saturday 16th May 2015

This morning I paid a visit to a large Cotswold estate to carry on with an Orchid survey I started a few weeks ago, its still a bit early for many orchids but I just wanted to see how things were developing.

There were signs of Common Spotted and Bee Orchids but no flower spikes yet, however the Common Twayblades are starting to open  nicely.

Common Twayblade, Listera ovata
Adderstongue, Ophioglossum vulgatum
I also found a clump of Adderstongue which was a nice discovery.

Adderstongue,
